§ 2-1. Mayor-council form of government adopted.

  • The mayor-council form of government, with a mayor and six (6) council members elected at large with four (4) year terms, the terms of council members being staggered whereby only three (3) council members shall be elected at any general municipal election, as provided in section 5-9-10 et seq., of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, is hereby adopted for the city to be effective on August 12, 1976, or as soon thereafter as prescribed by state law.
